US Sales Tax Rates

POS and ERP guidesSage Intacct

Update Sage Intacct after a sales tax rate change

Intacct stores the rate your company charges. Enter the printed general rate yourself after you read the change and the official source.

  1. 1. Read the change

Use the jurisdiction, previous rate, new rate, effective date, and official source from the change page or the Rate Change Report. Verified is the retrieval time, not the day the rate takes effect.

  2. 2. Open the tax setup for that entity

In Sage Intacct, open the tax solution the entity already uses for that jurisdiction. Companies differ: some use a tax schedule on the entity, others use a connected tax app. Edit the general sales and use rate in the place invoices already read. This guide does not switch you to a different tax engine.

  3. 3. Enter the printed rate

Replace the general rate with the new rate from the official chart. If the schedule has a start date, use the effective date on the row. Do not put an upcoming rate into effect before that date.

  4. 4. File the source with the change

Attach or note the official source on the workpaper. The Rate Change Report’s CSV and Excel are the same rows, for the enrolled states on a paid watchlist.

US Sales Tax Rates tells you which general sales and use rate changed, when it takes effect, and the official source. We do not integrate with Sage Intacct and we do not post the rate into the company.

Start monitoring

Monitoring is paid. The sample Rate Change Report is an excerpt from loaded official charts, not a personalized watchlist.
